Breakthrough Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) Technology for challenging elemental separation in specialty alloys & super alloys
SDD’s are a silicon-based detector. They offer three substantial performance benefits over PiN’s
- Better resolution,
- Can sustain higher count rates up to 10X of PiN’s and maintain the resolution
- lower “peak to tail” background.
All other factors the same, an SDD can run in the 150 eV range for resolution whereas PiN’s rarely do better than 175 eV in real world situations.
PiN diodes can only handle about 10k-15k counts per second (cps) before serious spectral degradation begins namely loss of resolution, high backgrounds, peak shifts, etc.
An SDD can handle up to 100k cps without such problems.

LITRAP14
FOR ANALYSIS OF OIL, SLUDGE AND WASTE MATERIAL |
Liquid analyses by XRF are usually made using special liquid cups covered by a thin film. The fear by using these cups is the break of the thin film containing the liquid. An other problem encountered when measuring organic materials
is the evaporation happening through the ventilation hole of the cup. All of these difficulties can be overcome by using our NEW LITRAP14.
Only a small amount of liquid is used (0.2g) which is totally absorbed by the LITRAP14. It can be used in both vacuum or under Helium flush. No need for the thin film (allowing therefore Fluorine analysis).
This wonder LITRAP14 is priced at same level than liquid cups with the advantage of avoiding risks inherent of the liquid to fell on the X-ray tube and the detector.
